Lead singer of South African rock band, WONDERboom, diversifies once again…

Born in Los Angeles, California, Martin Rafael Otto, aka Cito, was raised by his Puerto Rican mother and American father.

WIth El Cantante (the singer), Cito heads back to his Puerto Rican roots, performing his unique acoustic versions of the Spanish classics that he grew up listening to. The rhythms and styles of bolero, rumba, salsa, mambo, tejano, rancheras and traditional folklorica are included in the musical line-up, highlighting traditional favourites from countries including Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and others. Pop favourites are also presented in Cito’s unique arrangements with a “Desperado” flair. For accompaniment, Martin Schofield, fellow WONDERboom guitarist, joins him on lead guitar and South African percussionist extraordinaire, Riaan Van Rensburg (Noot Vir Noot/Boo!/Bomb Shelter Beast) provides the authentic Latin rhythms.
